Discussion:

The Western States Rendezvous was conceived by Jim Brackenbury in 1990 to bring archers together
for a weekend of events to celebrate the Recurve bow.

Related Documents:

Rules – To ensure a successful event, a generic list of suggested rules accompanies this procedure for
consideration by the host organization.

Date:

The Western States Traditional Rendezvous (WSTR) is held each Memorial Day Weekend and hosted by
traditional archery organizations in the states of Oregon, Washington, California and Idaho on a rotating schedule.

Events:

The main event of the WSTR is the 45 target trail shoot to be held on Saturday.  Other events are
scheduled at the discretion of the host organization.  This shall include but not be limited to Shooting events,
awards, novelties, food concessions, meals, seminar/guest speakers, raffles, etc.  It is suggested that events
be scheduled as early in the weekend as possible so participants traveling from distant states can enjoy them
before beginning the long journey home (on Monday).

Responsibility:

The Traditional Archers of Oregon is responsible for coordinating the event between the host states listed
above.  Should new states express an interest in hosting this event, the TAO Board of Directors will
determine eligibility.

State organizations will rotate responsibility for setting up this annual event and will follow the rules and
protocol set forth in this procedure and related documents listed above.

T.A.O. Board of Directors is responsible to authorize the President and Treasurer to make the
necessary preparations and expenditures to ensure the success of this annual event when hosted
in Oregon by TAO.  Also, registration will be run in strict adherence to the T.A.O. Event
Registration Policy.
