TITLE:

T.A.O. / P.B.S. YOUTH HUNT

 

PURPOSE:

To outline TAO’s requirements for participation in The Professional Bowhunter Society Youth Hunt

Every other year, opposite the Professional Bowhunter Society (P.B.S.) banquet, (odd numbered years)
P.B.S. conducts a 3 day youth hunt.  P.B.S. pays for room and board and hunting license, once the youth
(age 12 - 18 ) gets there with their mentor.  The youth must fill out an application and be accepted by the
P.B.S. Board.  They are looking for people with potential leadership skills as well as archery skills.

 

T.A.O. QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Must be a member or family member of  T.A.O.

·        Must pass Oregon Hunter Safety course and the International Bowhunter

      Education Program.

·        Have passing grades in school in all classes.

·        Must fill out P.B.S. form and be accepted.  Youth hunter can only win once.

·        Youth must possess hunting skills with legal traditional hunting equipment,

      have a desire for traditional hunting methods and a willingness to participate in

      T.A.O. functions, work parties, shoots, etc where they can demonstrate

      leadership skills.

·        T.A.O. will award travel expenses up to $500.00 for individual applicant and

       up to $750.00 total, if two applicants are selected.

·        T.A.O. will do this every other year, based upon the youth participation and or

       the health of the T.A.O. treasury.

 

Responsibilities?

The applicant is responsible to complete the PBS application and present a copy with all required
documents to a member of the TAO Executive Committee.

 

T.A.O. Executive Committee will judge the applications and determine winner.
